Khatu Shyamji Temple is a famous temple that is located in the Khatu village of Sikar district in Rajasthan, India. This temple is dedicated to Khatu ShyamJi, who is popularly known as `Hare ka Sahara’, as he is the supporter of every helpless person. Earlier, he was Barbareek, the grandson of Bhima and the son of Ghatotkach. At the time of the Mahabharata, Krishna blessed him that he would be worshipped in Kaliyuga.

Khatu Shyam Ji is believed to be Barbarik. He was a strong warrior who had exceptional powers. He also had three arrows, which were blessed by Shiva, which could destroy the entire world in a moment. Before the war, Krishna tested him, his power and devotion. When Krishna realised that Barbarik’s strength could change the result of the war, he asked Barbarik for a donation of his head(sheesh)

Barbareek willingly offered his head, and pleased with his devotion krishna blessed him with the name `Shyam’, and he would be worshipped in Kaliyug by millions of devotees. His head was buried in Khatu, where the temple lies today

The nearest airport is Jaipur International Airport, which is about 80km away from the temple

BEST TIME TO VISIT KHATU SHYAM JI TEMPLE

Khathu Shyamji temple is open throughout the year for devotees, but there are some special days to visit the temple. The most important month to visit this temple is the Falgun Mela. This mela is held in February or March. In these months, many devotees came to visit this temple, and apart from the people who also visit this temple on Ekadashi and Janmashtami, this temple is fully decorated during this time. If you want to visit peacefully, the best time is early morning.
