Birth and Qualities of Ram and Sita

Ram is the son of King Dashrath and a prince of Ayodhya. He is known for his bravery and kindness. Sita is the daughter of King Janaka, and she is famous for her beauty. According to the story, King Janaka found Sita while plowing a field and adopted her as his daughter; she is known as the daughter of the motherland.

The Swayamvar and Their Marriage

The first meeting of Ram and Sita is in the great Swayamvar organized by the king Janka. The condition of marriage was that whoever could lift the powerful bow of lord shiva win Sita’s hand. Many strong kings tried this, but they failed. When Ram came forward, he easily lifted the bow and broke it. Sita happily accepts Ram as her husband. And their marriage is celebrated with great joy.

After their marriage, they live happily together. But Ram went into exile for 14 years because of a promise King Dasharatha made to Queen Kaikeyi. He calmly accepted this. And Sita also joined him in the forest. This shows her loyalty or love for Ram. Lakshman also joined them. He is Ram’s younger brother.

Life in the Forest

Ram’s Search and Hanuman’s Devotion

He helped Ram cross the big ocean, and he gave hope to Sita by delivering Ram’s message. Ram, as a responsible king, felt the need to prove Sita’s purity before society. To prove this purity sita gave Agni Priksha and entered the fire. Fire god protected her and showed that she is pure and faithful. After this, Ram accepted Sita and returned to Ayodhya. 

Ram Rajya – The Golden Period

After returning to Ayodhya, they ruled the kingdom. This period is known as Ram Rajya. This is the time for prosperity: peace and love. There is a time when rumors about Sita spread. Ram made a painful decision and sent Sita away to the forest.

At that time, she was pregnant and found shelter in Valmiki Asharam. In this ashram, she gave birth to two twin sons. Luv and Kush. She raised them with love, honesty,

Final Reunion and Sita’s Departure 

After a few years, Luv and Kush reunited with their family, and Sita proved her purity again, sacrificed herself, and returned to Mother Earth. And left a strong message of ‘self-respect.’
